Home › Editorial & eligibility policy
This page explains how we produce and check our content — the foundation of trust on a topic that touches both health and money.
How we verify eligibility claims
- We ground eligibility statements in primary sources: IRS Publication 502 (Medical and Dental Expenses) and IRS Publication 969 (HSA and other tax-favored plans).
- We describe the Letter of Medical Necessity mechanism accurately and never claim a filter is "automatically" eligible.
- For product and program details (e.g. TrueMed), we link to the official source so you can verify.
- Tax and contribution figures change yearly; we flag them as current-year and "verify for your plan."
How we review products
We weigh contaminant reduction, maintenance and running cost, flow rate, warranty, and how the HSA/FSA purchase actually works. We state who a product is not for, and we present honest trade-offs rather than only positives.
Corrections & updates
We date our pages and update them when rules, prices, or products change. Spot an error? Tell us and we will fix it.
Not professional advice
Our content is educational and is not tax, legal, or medical advice. Eligibility depends on your specific plan and health situation; confirm with your plan administrator and a qualified professional.
